Server colocation is quite simple. You are charged a base rack fee, which covers the rental of the physical space your server is using as well as the electricity you need. On top of the rack space fee, you are charged for the bandwidth you use. Your most cost effective method is to estimate your bandwidth usage ahead of time to lock in at a lower rate.
